I don't really know why I'm bothering to post here. It's been 4 months or something. In that time I've been living in Brunswick, at Mt. Field. Come over sometime if you wanna, there's always somebody that doesn't live here hanging out on our couches or eating our food. Life's good. Uni's good, but assignments aren't fun. The band is on it's last legs (actually, this time). We played our last shows in Sydney and Brisbane on the weekend just gone. They were really amazing and it was so good just hanging out with everybody. I'm really sad that even though I'll be able to see everybody still, I won't get to do it with James, Cal, Tim and Juz. It'll be completely different.

Anyway, come see us playing our last three shows in Melbourne.

April 4, 7pm @ Northcote Uniting Church Hall w. Off Minor (USA), Cut Sick!!, Fabulous Diamonds and The Diamond Sea
May 24, 7pm @ TBA w/ Ampere (USA), Majorca + more.
May 25, 4pm @ Irene's Warehouse (Brunswick) w/ Ohana, Ex Spectator + more.

All shows are all ages.

Other than band and uni, I've been working a fair bit. FOXTEL still sucks but I've only got 2 months until I'm elidgable for youth allowance and then I'm not going to work for a while.

The past two weeks we've had a bunch of backpackers staying with us - good times, if not a little frustrating in the mornings. But they were all awesome. We had a couple from Berlin, 2 girls from the south of Germany and an English guy. No real idea how they all ended up at our house, as none of us really knew them, but whatever.

I've started a new band. It's with Roh (who's living with us now, along with Timmy, Sean and soon Pip) and Molly (who I'm still with and madly in love with). We played one show, with the Rational Academy, and will probably play some more soon. It's fun.

Last night I went to see Crux, Agents and Majorca at Irene's. Crux ruled, Agents played 3 songs and Majorca were pretty good. Didn't stick around for Schifosi or Assasinators, but people said they were good.

Not gonna update this regularly, so don't get too excited.

So I'm hangin' out on the couch at Molly's place, which has pretty much become my second home. Spend just about as much time here as I do at my place, it rules. Best kitchen. So my first home has changed again, I'm living at the Quehouse on Mountfield St. It's really great. Been there for a week and a half or so now. Hung out with Pip and Timmy a bit last week, gettin' drunk and stupid in my room, makin' stupid words on the fridge, cookin' food. Working full time is getting easier, money will be really good to have. Pretty keen to save up as much as I can, buy a good Digital SLR, maybe a new guitar, and then save as much as I can to travel and live.

Weekend before last was really great. Saturday Molly and I hung out with Paul and Roh, eatin' food and buyin' records. After being fucked around by Pony we got the gear and the show at Deago was really fun. Went back to Roh's place and then went to a party in Footscray. Had a lot of fun, got drunk and ate vegan cake. Stayed at Molly's place and then headed back to Brunswick to go out for breakfast with everybody. The weekend then ended with a great evening at Forepaw eating vegan food, playing with Bong Shelter/Augustus Hill (heaps of fun), watching awesome bands and hangin' with the best people around.

Weekend just gone was fun, Friday night after work I went and bought cheap vodka + energy drinks and longnecks and drank in the Botanical Gardens with Molly, before going and seeing Daft Punk (who were completely amazing).

Rest of the weekend was pretty quiet, Christmas shopping, cooking vegan pies at Chlo's place, cooking non vegan pies at Molly's place, drinking and chilling.

Today is 11 months since Molly and I first started dating. I love her a whole lot.

One more day of work and then I've got 5 days off (thanks to the sick day I plan on taking on Monday - band practice and then family stuff comes first).

[music |The Diamond Sea: Heavy Skies]

100% full on week.

Friday night I can't remember what I did... must've been fun. Saturday I hung out with Ying and Miles all day, which was really great. Went back to Miles' place, got blazed, went to a picnic in Edinburgh Gardens and then came home and got more blazed. Sunday I cooked food for the potluck and then went and set up for the show at Catfood Press. Was a really fun show, all the bands were great. Potluck was really fun too, good friends, great food.

This whole week I've worked "9-6" but most days I've finished around 4 but been payed 'til 6. It's all just training bullshit, but it's easy and the work seems like it'll be good.

Went out drinking every night after work, but when all of your best friends from different states are down it's kinda hard not to. Drank with Todd, Roh, Ying, Molly, Sophie and Enlai on Monday night, then went and ate greasy pizza in North Melbourne. Tuesday night all the Tragics arrived so we drank up and then ate dumplings, good times. Wednesday night was the Missing Link Christmas party which meant great bands, cheap beers and weird movies. Fun night. Thursday night was the Tragic/Athletic and Love Is Science Fiction show at Bar Open. Crazy night, really, really fun. Last night I went Lena's place and ate hash brownies with Tim, Pip and Lena, before going to Al and Georgia's 21st's on Albion St - Eddy Current, The UV Race, Bill, Shankly, The Diamond Sea and Drowned Out played and they were all great. Then I raced to Pony and played sax with T/A and then drank until the early hours.

Yesterday I had a job interview for the perfect job for me right now and last night I got a call saying I'd got the job. Good times. Start Monday morning. Went out for dinner last night in Footscray to celebrate, good Vietnamese food, yum. Band practice tonight, can't wait. Six Feet Under is the best show ever, so obsessed right now.

My sister went to Germany for 2 months yesterday, I'm jealous. Went home for afternoon tea with the (extended) fam on Wednesday and Molly met everybody, had tea with my folks and then caught a shit train home that night. Yesterday I went to the airport, expensive wedges. Tuesday night I went to Bar Open with Dase, Timmy, Matt, Macca and Fjorn, good times.

All I really want to do with myself right now is get a solid job (how boring and un-me), save up some money, find a really nice house with a great kitchen (aka bench space, gas stove and an oven) and a decent sized bedroom that I can have a long bench desk that goes around two of the walls and around the corner. And then I can live in that house for the next 18 months without having to worry about moving out or anything, and the house will be really clean and I'll live with great people. And then I can go overseas and study for 6 months and it'll be awesome. I'm either turning bourgeois or old.

I am currently unemployed but I have a feeling that will change this week.

The last week has been alright, spent a few days at home, Milly goes to Germany next week so I went to see her. Fixed up my bike and stuff, went out for dinner with Mum and Dad (Vietnamese, of all things) and then Friday night went and saw the Rivalry with TJ. Good show.

Yesterday was a really good day - rode my bike into the city and went to the NGV with Molly, then had lunch and coffee and then went home and cooked a BBQ, watched the election (FUCK YES) and then watched a few episodes of Six Feet Under. Today I went to Chloe's, ate sushi and got stoned watching Friends. Ate a lot of cereal.

[music |The Paper and The Plane: My Dreams]

So last Saturday night I had dumplings with Adam, Jess and Juzzy, and then went and saw the Focus at the Coppin st gallery, was pretty good. The hangouts afterwards outside and then down at the shitty pub on the corner were really good. After that made my way to Pony and started drinking and getting free drinks because when I went to give my rider the barguy asked what band I was in and I said Bang!Bang!Aids! and he was like "oh keep your card, I like your band". Pretty sweet considering I'm not in the band, ha! Anyway, I had a whole lot of fun playing, was pretty wasted though so it may have been terrible. Drank heaps more afterwards, somehow got home (pretty sure Rohan payed for a cab for me) sometime close to dawn. Woke up the next morning and I'd spewed in my bed, yum.

Went home to Mt Eliza on the Sunday, nursed a hangover all day, Molly came down on Monday, we went to the beach and swam in our clothes, had a picnic, went op-shopping and cooked pizzas. Good times. The next day we slept in, went to the beach again, and hung out, good times. Spent most of the rest of the week at her place, cookin' and helping her study. She's finished all her exams now, which is really fucking cool. Friday night we went to St Kilda with Ruby and her friend Andrew and ate chips on the pier, jumped in in our undies, walked for half an hour through St Kilda in my undies, got high, ate amazing pizza and watched Happiness (a really fucked up film).

Yesterday I had coffee with Matty, Tim, Jimmy, Jacquie and Alicia at Ray's, then went to Tim's and hungout, went into the city and made a flyer, met Joe and Chloe and had dumplings with them, came home and then we went back to Tim's place to cook dinner. Made rice paper rolls and chilli beans with rice, Chloe, Joe and Matt came round and we all had beers and listened to tunes and watched Family Guy and it was a really nice night.

Need a job, stat.

Past week has been good. Friday night went to Lizzy's going away party in Mt Eliza, which was good times. Caught up with a few of the old gang, went skating with Cal, got way too stoned with Ol and then came home and sat on a cliff watching all the fishing boats at 3am. How romantic. Saturday night Molly came down and we watched TV and stuff. Monday Em helped me move my stuff up to Brunswick, and I am now a 3056 resident again. Come visit me (315 Brunswick Rd). Monday night went to Public Bar with Chlo, drank way too much beer, Juzzy, Posi, Adam and Jess came down after a while too. Came home, puked in the garden, slept terribly. Rest of the week was spent with Molly pretty much, cooking (made an INCREDIBLE frittata yesterday with pumpkin, ricotta, spinach, mushrooms and onion - seriously the best thing I've made in ages), eating (awesome pizza in St Kilda last night) and hangin' out. Last night I went to Georgie's art exhibition opening in Elwood, was fun, caught up with her, El and Ralph, drank lots and lots of free champagne and then walked to St Kilda beach and met Molly and Ruby. Bought beers, ate pizza, went and sat on the pier and got drunk. Then went back to Ruby's place where Seb was having a party, got stoned and hung out with 15 year olds. AWESOME FRIDAY NIGHT. This morning Molly and I went to Ray's for breakfast, good times.

Tonight I'm going to see Ross' last show with the Focus at some gallery in Richmond and then I'm playing with Bang!Bang!Aids! at Pony for the 2am show - it's free so if you're in the city and you're wasted or something you should come, hey.

[music |Pg. 99: A Sonnet To Both Ugly And Murderous]

So today, despite being over a grand down after crashing the van on tour, I lashed out and bought an iPod. Probably a stupid idea, but I needed an external harddrive regardless, as my MacBook's full, and this wasn't much more and y'know, it's alright.

Last night I went to Molly's and made stirfry and played guitar and sewed up my pants.

Tonight I'm going to Lizzy's going away party which should be pretty fun! Will be good to catch up with the school kids, haven't seen any of them in months! Tomorrow night I'm tossing up going to the show at the Bowls Club (Fattura, Space Bong, Majorca) or going to the show at James' house (the show being Tim, James and I getting drunk). Decisions...

[music |La Quiete: Metempsicosi Del Fine Ultimo Nevrastenica Oscillazione Fra Poli Estre]

I'm back from tour and I'm really, really sad it's over. I miss all of my amazing friends in different states, and different countries. Saying goodbye to Angelo, Michele, Andreas, Cebio and Andreas yesterday morning was really, really hard, and I'm going to miss them all a whole lot. Looks like we might be heading over to Europe for a few weeks in the middle of next year, so it shouldn't be too long, but still, it's hard and it sucks. Amazing people. Likewise, I really miss everybody in Brisbane and Newie/Sydney, in particular. Playing in this band has allowed me to meet some of the most beautiful people around, and I'm so thankful for it.

Anyway, Newcastle was awesome. The Italians cooked amazing pasta for us one night, we went to a big farm with kangaroos, koalas, dingos and heaps of normal farm animals and patted them and had an amazing day. On our last night there, just before the show, we went to Hamo Chinese for awesome vegan mock meat, good times. The show that night was amazing, it was hard not to be playing it, but it meant I could drink and not worry about being too drunk to play. We drove straight from the show to Brisbane, stopping off at Palm Beach on the way to have an early morning swim (for photos see here: laqueite.wordpress.com) and then arrived at Andrew and Hillary's place at around midday. Spent the arvo lazing in the sun and drinking beer, before heading to the Jubilee for the show. Was pretty fun, we played alright but the fatigue showed, we played everything pretty slowly. The next night, however, after spending another day at the beach, was one of the most fun on the tour, totally awesome. All the bands ruled, lots of people came, I hung from the rafters during La Quiete, some crazy crust kids with a baby in a shopping trolley surrounded by alcohol came (completely fucked) and yeah, just all round good times.

However, after leaving that show, as we were leaving Brisbane on our way to Sydney (at 2am) we had a crash - a taxi flew around a corner in the middle of the road and James had to swerve to miss it, ending up with us colliding with a pole, smashing out all the windows on one side of the van and denting one side pretty severely, to the degree where the door no longer opens. So after a while we decided we'd tape up all the windows and keep driving to Sydney, but change our story so that a) Cebio was driving, so we'd get insurance (as the van was hired in Ceb's name) and b) we sweved to miss a possum, rather than a taxi (so we didn't have to call the police). Anyway, limped in to Sydney the next afternoon, unloaded everything into Maggotville, met Molly (she flew up for the last show) and went and got really hot curry up the road. The show that night was amazing (not us, but every other band). It was pretty sad after La Quiete played, Juzzy cried, everybody felt pretty shitty. No more amazing shows night after night, no more amazing Italians to spend our days with.

The next day Ceb, James and I took the van back to Europcar, only had to pay $540 excess (pretty good), and then went to Burgerlicious to meet everybody and have somewhat overrated burgers (try telling Juzzy that, though). Dase, Tim and I then went back and hired a different car (a bright red Ford XR-6 - some stupid meathead sports car) that cost us way too much and then met everybody for drinks and lame photos at Cirucular Quay. Went to Green Palace (10000000 x better than Green Gourmet) for dinner that night (bean curd, tofu and pumpkin, mock duck and the most amazing eggplant I've ever tasted) before sitting and drinking with everyone in a park. A nice way to end what was a pretty amazing fortnight.

Pip and Mitch are coming down in a few weeks to stay with Tim and I, which'll be good. We're going on a big roadtrip at the end of January/start of Feb, which will see us (Tim, Molly, Tara and I, so far) go to Canberra for vegan chilli dogs, stop in Newcastle for a few days, go to Live and Let DIY in Brissie for a few days/Dennis' 21st, then head down and camp on the beach for a few days in between Brissie and Newcastle. Anyone who wants to tag along really, really should. CONVOY.

I move back to Brunswick this weekend.

Halfway through the La Quiete / Quebec tour and am having the best time ever. All the shows so far have been so amazing - Friday night in Melbourne was the best show I've ever been to or played at. Had so much fun. Angelo, Michele, Andreas, Cebio and Andreas are the best people, so funny and so much fun to hang out with. Adelaide was a blast, although we didn't really stay there long enough to do anything other than play the show and eat sushi - we drove home straight after the show. Canberra was really, really fun. The show was awesome and Sam and Joe and co were awesome to meet and stay with - vegan chilli dogs were the best thing ever. Yesterday's Sydney show was really amazing - Yvonne Ruve is such an amazing space. The show in the 'gong that night was more funny than good but I still had a good time. Hanging out with the Ohana guys is always good and it was nice to get a sleep in the morning. Right now we're at Pip & Kerry's place (aka the Cesspool) in Newie and me and the Italians are watching The Toxic Avenger. We had a huge vegan BBQ when we arrived and just spent the night drinking beer in the backyard. We've got four shows left on the tour - Newie on Wednesday night, then two shows in Brisbane and the last show of the tour at Maggotville on Saturday night. Please come out to the shows, you won't regret it! $10! www.myspace.com/wearequebec for details.

I miss Molly. I'm getting a tattoo on my leg, the cover from our demo. Tara, Tim, James, Cal and Juz are so great. I have the best friends ever. Molly's coming to Sydney on Saturday for the MGTVLE show, so good.

[music |Relics: No End]

So the last month and a bit has been pretty amazing.

I started in Saigon - flew in just over a month ago. Spent a couple of days there before taking a boat up the Mekong (nothing like Apocolypse Now, much to my dismay) for three days until I got to Cambodia. On the boat I met Megs and Mike, a couple from Montreal, and Kim and Sam, two guys my age from Fitzroy. I spent 4 days travelling with Megs and Mike and then 11 with Kim and Sam. On our last night on the river someone came into Kim, Sam and I's room and robbed us (Sam had his wallet taken, I had money taken, Kim had his wallet and his camera taken). Bit of a downer. Spent about 5 days in Phnom Penh which was a blast. Here we went to a house party (some 16th, I think) where everyone was singing really bad karaoke. The party ended with a room full of fairly sober Cambodians and 4 ridiculously drunk Westerners throwing cake around the room. Lots of fun. We were then taken to a huge night club by motorbike where I fell asleep. No idea how I got back to our hotel but I do remember eating porridge on the side of the road before I fell asleep. Whilst in Phnom Penh I also visited the Killing Fields and S-21 (genocide museum) both of which were pretty full on. Sam and I ate "happy pizza" (pizza with weed on it) that, whilst being a really great pizza, was a total let down on the "happiness" factor. We also broke a bike.

Spent a few days after that in Siem Riep, visiting the temples (Ta Prohm was incredible), celebrating Kim's birthday and just getting drunk on Bar Street. Was a good time but didn't really need any more time up there. Left Kim and Sam on the Sunday morning with a brutal hangover and caught an 11 hour bus to the coast - Sihanoukville. Here I spent 4 days lazing around while it rained non stop. Still, it was some awesome downtime and I met some amazing people (Tamar from Israel, Brendan from Melbourne, Craig and Dean from the UK, a few others too, Brendan from Maine, USA and a few others). I also won a game over poker at a bar and made myself $15US. Spent most nights out until the wee hours of the morning at the beach drinking cheap beers. Ate lots of good food while I was in Sihanoukville, too.

Spent two nights in Kampot after that, which was a beautiful little river town a bit further around the coast. Took a day trip to Bokor Hill National Park, where we took a tiny little hatchback up a crazy 4x4 track to the top of the hill. Up there was a abandoned French colonial township - two casinos, 2 hotels, police station, post office, King's holiday house, lots of house, spooky church. It was pretty surreal, and pretty amazing.

The following day I took the bus back to Phnom Penh, and then headed back to Vietnam. Spent 4 days in Saigon, went to the War Remnant Museum and discovered how America are even bigger cunts than I already thought (may have been a fair bit of bias on the exhibition, given that Vietnam is still currently a Communist State, albeit a pretty capitalist one). Rode a bike to Cholon, where I wandered around a market for a few hours feeling really, really out of place, and nicely uncomfortable. Ate some crazy food that was pretty good.

Took a plane to Hanoi after that, and spent 3 days there. Beautiful city. Rode a bike around there for a day, visited a bunch of monuments and religious buildings, for the architectural aspects, not the religious ones. Saw a water pupets performance and ate lots of beautiful food.

Then took a bus to Halong Bay and spent two days on a boat in one the most incredible places I've ever been to. Truly amazing, beautiful. 2000 tiny (yet very high) rock islands jutting out of this great big green bay. Kayaked there, jumped off the three story boat, went climbing through caves and ate more food than I really wanted. Really great time.

Came back to Hanoi for a couple of nights before heading down to Hue. Here I went on a boat to a bunch of tombs and pagodas (including the pagoda where the buddhist monk set him self on fire during the Vietnam War), played with kittens and a dog that almost peed on me, and listened to From Fiction a lot on the boat.

Now I'm in Hoi An, a beautiful little coastal town that was almost untouched during the war, despite being just 30 minutes from Danang (a major US military base). Here there are 500 tailors, so I've got a duffel coat, some pants and a couple of shirts made up. There's a typhoon here at the moment so there's rain 24/7. Today, on my way in to town, we passed a motorcycle accident. Must have just happened. There was a woman, face down in a puddle, with no shoes on and a thin plastic poncho, lying next to her motorbike, which was on it's side. She was spasming uncontrollably - she'd obviously hit her head when she fell. Nobody around her knew what to do, and my bus just kept driving. I hate to say it but right now her life is either really, really fucked up - or over. I've felt really messed up about it all day.

I have a couple more days in Hoi An, then 1 night in Saigon again before I fly out on Saturday night. So... I'm home Sunday. I've had an amazing time but I'm looking forward to seeing Molly, seeing my friends, seeing some bands, not having to worry whether my noodles are going to have bits of meat in them and shaving off the huge beard I've acquired.

For those of you who have been reading this for at least a year or so, you maybe remember this entry - http://luff-samuel.livejournal.com/68697.html

Well... yesterday I went here. I'm in Cambodia and am having an amazing time. Tomorrow I take a 10 hour bus from the North down to the South Coast where I'll spend a week or so, before heading back to Vietnam for another few weeks.

I've met up with a couple of guys from Fitzroy and have been travelling with them for the past week and a bit. It's good. Not really missing home just yet, but I miss a few people - Molly in particular. Hard thymes.

Last night we played a show at Deago Studios on Johnston St and it was a tiny tiny room and it was full of people. It should've been an amazing show but seeing as we hadn't even been in the same room since Juzzy ruined his leg we played pretty horribly. But it was nice to play together again. And we ironed out some of the creases in the band and yeah, it was good to do. Majorca fucking ruled though. Afterwards went out with Timmy, Chlo and Matt and ate greasy food and then drank some beer at Hells Kitchen. Went to Molly's after that and spend the night cuddlin'.

Today we went to Fraus for breakfast/brunch. Had crepes and hot chocolate and it was awesome. Then we went to the Vic Market and did lots of fruit and vegie shopping, t'was good. Then I bought an mp3 player from Strathfield or something and yeah, pretty happy for $49. It'll serve me well on the trip, at least.

Then Molly and I said goodbye and it was really horrible and I miss her so much already and aww, fuck. It sucks. I love her so much, it's amazing. She's amazing. Ugh. Gonna be a long five weeks.

[music |The Microphones: Monster]

Last night I played at a squat show/reclaimed space show under the bridge in Clifton Hill. Augustus Hill + I played some pretty brutal stuff that destroyed at least one set of ears. Had loads of fun. Slow Signal played after us and they were so good. Can't wait to see them again. Afterwards I went to Molly's and had a really nice night.

During the day before the show I hung out with Jimmy and Matt, drinkin' juice and beer and it was good to catch up.

I'm writing a zine and it should be ready for the show on Friday, which will probably double as my going away drinks or whatever, because I go away on Tuesday of next week and am too lazy to organise anything. I probably won't even message anybody to tell them about this, so y'know, just come if you like the bands.

Quebec + Majorca.
Live recording for split tape (coming out on Utarid:Tapes in October).
@ Deago Studios, Johnson St, Fitzroy.
This Friday night (maybe 7ish?).
Cold coin donation I think.

The zine will cost you some poo change or nothing, whatever. It's got a bunch of writing I've done, a comic Molly and I wrote, an interview (sort've) and a bunch of drawings that the amazingly talented Molly has done/is gonna do for me.

There's probably a bunch of stuff in it that I'll regret so I doubt I'll have it anywhere other than this show.

Umm, yeah. I guess... other news to report is... limited. I'm going to the Moroccan Soup Kitchen on Tuesday night which I'm excited about.

[music |Comadre: Hit Me Up on My Celly-Cell]

This week has been full on. The rest of the La Quiete tour got finalised, which was a good feeling. Dates are up and around the place. Will stick the poster at the end of this stuff. Please come out, I'd like to think that after all the effort I've put into this some people will actually get to see this incredible band.

I jammed with Sean and Matt on Tuesday at Sean's place. It was really fun. Just noisey/droney/bong-out improv stuff. Playing sax and vocal kind've stuff. It's fun. We're playing a squat party with Assasination Collective and some others on the 25th, not sure where yet but will post here. After that I went to Molly's and took her soup 'cos she's sick and watched Gummo which is fucked up but a good film.

I've started doing a bit of painting on the house this week. Boring but I guess it needs to be done.

Last night Molly came over and we had dinner with my folks and watched Babel (which is an entirely depressing yet really good film) and then just hung out. Today we went to Frankston and then I came home and wrote a new song. It's for a new band I'm starting with Jimmy and Ford. Thinking it'll be kind've chord driven, heavy, fast yet melodic. Been listening to a lot of Diatro lately and that's kind've the feeling I'm thinking of. Anyway, this'll be the first band I'll really be singing in and it's good. The stuff I've written feels really good to vocalise (I'd say sing but I'm not). It's going to be an outlet for anger.

There was a bit of missinterpretation in regards to my offhanded comment about Quebec at the end of my last entry. Quebec aren't breaking up anytime soon. It'll be at least 6 months, but it's likely that this Summer will see the end of us. Either that or we will become a FAR less frequent live band (as in, maybe a tour per year, two if we're lucky). I hope it's the latter.

I can't remember if I wrote about this in my last entry but I don't sleep very well these days. It could be just my mind making the huge adjustment from the life I've been living at Cloud City to the quite bland existance I live down here with the folks. Either way, despite the fact that for a while I was finding the hours between 12 and 3 the most productive in my days, I really wish I could just get a good night's slumber.

Oh hey, had a good day the other day because of two things. 1: I found my Slint shirt that's been missing since the tour with Tragic/Athletic in November. SO HAPPY. 2: Worked out why my fisheye camera wasn't working (battery was in upside-down) so got lots of film and will now use it regularly.

The last Cloud City shows were both completely amazing. Thursday was spent at the warehouse with Timmy and James, drinking beer and setting up pot plants, TVs, candles weird odds and ends a equiptment for the show. The BBQ was a success, even if it was a pretty shambolic lil' contraption. Bands were all really good. Augustus Hill are going to be such a good band. Fuckin' with the kidz since '07. During our set (that was, up until the last song was one of the funner sets I've played) Juzzy fell to the ground after somehow dislocating his leg. No idea how it happened but he was screaming pretty loudly so I suppose it hurt. People got him up on to a couch before he demanded his bass and made us finish the song. PUNK ROCK (or something along those lines). Anyhow, it makes for a good story if nothing else. The rest of the night was spent around the fire chattin' to good people.

Friday was spent being sad about moving out. Totally sucks.

Saturday night's show was HUGE. Huge sound, huge turnout, hugely fun. Grey Daturas were awesome for what I saw, Agents were AMAZING - so loud (Ben played through 3 guitar cabs and a bass cab) and so fucking good. Majorca were awesome - seriously one of the best bands going around right now. Tara's vocals add a fair bit of awesomeness, too.

Sunday I moved out. Was pretty quick and painless, but it was sad to go.

Tuesday I had coffee with Jimmy and was asked to go three ways in a cafe/bar/venue with him and Matt. Interesting. Went back to the warehouse afterwards and had coffee with Matt and Michael while Michael completely geeked out. Pretty funny. Went up to Tim's for dinner and beers and TV after that and then Todd, Miranda and Erin came over and we drank more beer. Then we went to the Retreat and drank more beer. Then we went to some terrible night in the city run by Hugh Waters and drank more beer. Then I went back to Molly's place.

Wednesday I went and had coffee/beer with Todd, 'randa and Erin before spending a couple of hours out the back of Missing Link killing time. Met up with Milly after that and made sure she got in to the Shins show before training it home.

Friday I went and checked out a new space on High St for the La Quiete show and it was freakin' great. After that I went to Ollie's 18th and had a really good night getting way to drunk and way to high. It was good times though.

And finally...... the ticking time-bomb that is Quebec looks to be on it's last legs. :(

Thursday August 2
Quebec (jazzy screamo)
Dynamite... Boom! (mathy two piece)
Luca Brasi (31G-ish grind)
Consider This A Threat (ebullution-y screamo, now with added beard)
+ Vegan BBQ + Beard Party

Saturday August 4
Majorca (7" launch - fucking amazing screamo)
Agents Of Abhorrence (br00tal grind)
Grey Daturas (br00tal noise)

Both shows are under $5!

Architecture shows on the weekend were stressful but I guess slightly rewarding. Not my thing though. That day was really good though, just hung out with Matt and Jimmy, went and had lunch at Trippy Taco with them and Ben - best TT I've ever had - and set shit up for the show. That night I went to Timmy's 21st which was good times. Ate lots of Nat's muffins and drank lots of free beer. Sunday was Dad's 50th so I came home for a big family lunch and made my awesome pizzas for everyone.

I’m a little bit sad at the moment. Cloud City / Stargate Command / 14 Prentice Street as we know it comes to an end in about two weeks. I’m really going to miss it. I’ve had the best six months of my life living here and there are just so many amazing memories that go with it. I’ve played here, seen some of my favourite bands here, met a hero of mine here, partied here, met some of the people I now consider my closest friends here, played a lot of Ninja Gaiden, had many drunken nights and most importantly MET SOME OF THE MOST AMAZING, INTERESTING, PASSIONATE, CREATIVE AND BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER AUSTRALIA HERE. It sucks because in losing this place I lose this platform. I’m going to miss living in Brunswick too. I love this place.

The last week has been pretty intense. Wednesday night I saw Envy, My Disco and Brisk at the Arthouse and it was pretty incredible. Had awesome chats with Juzzy and Cohan too, which was good. Thursday I went to Molly’s and cooked, ate, watched telly and slept. Good times. Friday was our six month of actually dating anniversary so we went to a hotel and I got candles and roses and was all romantic and lame. But it was a really special night and we just hung out watching Foxtel, eating takeaway and lazing around in the spa. Saturday we went back to Yarraville and got in to the new Harry Potter film for free and it was pretty great. That night I went to Juzzy’s 21st and had such an awesome time. Majorca played the best set I have ever seen them play – Jimmy was really drunk and jumped off the kit into everybody. Totally awesome. Juzzy got weed-cake for his birthday so I spent most of the night pretty high, talking shit with Tim, Chlo, James and Thom. Martin had a spazz out (again) which was pretty entertaining. Sunday I had a pretty boring day, riding around Brunswick with no direction until I ended up at the Nova and snuck in to a cinema FULL of middle age couples to see Clubland. It was kinda alright.

Anyway, there are four more shows at Cloud City before it ends, so if you want to check it out before it’s all over drag yourself out to one of these.

Saturday July 28 (arvo): Architecture In Helsinki & Yacht (USA)
Saturday July 28 (night): Architecture In Helsinki & Yacht (USA)
Thursday August 2 (from 6pm): Quebec, Dynamite… Boom!, Luca Brasi & Consider This A Threat (or whatever the end up being called) + vegan BBQ (RECOMMENDED)
Saturday August 4 (from 8): Majorca 7” launch & Agents Of Abhorrence (RECCOMENDED).
